Routes into teaching
With KMT you have 2 main routes into teaching, all of them involve closely training in one school (your Home School) and gaining teaching experience in a contrasting/alternative setting.
Assessment Only Route
The Assessment Only (AO) route to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) allows you to demonstrate that you already meet all the Teaching Standards, without the need for any further training.
You’ll need to present detailed evidence of your teaching and be assessed in school. The whole process takes under 12 weeks, often without leaving your current school.
Where can I train to teach?
We have over 150 partner schools in which you can choose to train to teach. We offer placements in urban and semi-rural settings, single-sex and co-educational schools, both wide ability and selective.
Every KMT partner school has its own distinctive ethos and aims.
