Job Summary: Leigh Academy Horsmonden has an exceptional opportunity for a committed, enthusiastic and passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team

Leigh Academy Horsmonden has an exceptional opportunity for a committed, enthusiastic and passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team. Becoming a member of the Horsmonden Primary team will enable you to work with like-minded colleagues who share your goals and ambitions. You will join a team dedicated to offering outstanding educational opportunities for all students, using creative, well-sequenced, and highly effective lines of inquiry that place learners at the heart of our curriculum.

As a Teaching Assistant you will work closely with the class teacher to improve the provision for all children. You will be based in both KS1 and KS2, and therefore experience of working with children in this age range is essential. There may be times when you’re needed to cover the class in the teacher’s absence so experience of this is advantageous.

The successful candidate will need to have relevant experience and/or qualifications in working with children. Being able to communicate effectively with children and adults is essential, together with a friendly and approachable manner. Our newly appointed TA will be able to work using their own initiative and can demonstrate effective behaviour management skills. In return, they will join a supportive environment with plenty of development opportunities within the academy and across the wider Trust.

The successful candidate will get to work with the wonderful children of Horsmonden and help them reach their full potential.

We are looking for a candidate with:

Knowledge and experience of working within KS1 and KS2
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
Creativity and passion for learning
A thirst for knowledge, high expectations and the ability to inspire and motivate children.
Dedication to the job and the skills to prioritise the needs of the children in their care.
Resilience and the ability to be solution-focused
The role offers an actual salary of £18,4 per annum (£24,404 full time equivalent) per annum based on 32.5 hours per week, Term Time + 1 week of inset (5 days per week, 8.30-15.30). The role will be centred around supporting children’s learning and development in all aspects of school life, not only in class but during social times too.

We strongly recommend that you come to visit our setting so that you can see in action what an inspiring and purposeful environment it is, for both pupils and adults.
