Longfield Academy has a great opportunity to appoint a talented and inspiring Teacher of Maths who will join us from September 2024, strengthening our already successful department even further. Our successful candidate will be passionate about their subject, committed to academic excellence and have the ability to motivate, support and enthuse students. You will join an established department with a friendly, dedicated team who achieve excellent results.

We can be receptive to teachers joining us at varying stages in their career; whether you are a recently qualified teacher or one who has many years of teaching experience, we can ensure that you are developed within the department and wider academy. 

Mathematics across the Trust offers the most diverse curriculums in the South East, with the introduction of Maths Mastery of KS3, coupled with regular opportunities for cross-Trust planning at KS4 and KS5. Working at Longfield Academy can offer opportunities for career progression, with relevant CPD available to continue developing alongside students, whereby both have a positive culture of learning. Longfield Academy can provide the successful candidate an opportunity to work with an extremely experienced team, offering a strong support network.

Our Key stage 3 classes are taught using an innovative Maths Mastery method. This is alongside the IB MYP in order to develop a deep and broad Mathematical understanding within our students in preparation for their GCSE studies, which commence in Year 9. We invest heavily so that staff have ongoing access to weekly high-quality professional development and a curriculum focused on developing conceptual understanding. Our curriculum is underpinned by research on task design, variation theory, concept development and raising achievement. Full training will be available to the successful candidate.
